The United World Wrestling (UWW) has condemned the treatment of protesting wrestlers and their detention following a scuffle with the Delhi Police. The UWW will meet with the wrestlers to inquire about their safety and seek further information from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) about plans for the next governing body. It has threatened to suspend the Wrestling Federation of India if elections are not completed within 45 days. The IOA has appointed a two-member Ad-hoc Committee to oversee the Wrestling Federation of India’s office, and a retired High Court Judge will be appointed to ensure impartial and transparent voting.
