The Voice that Guided Chandrayaan-3's Countdown Silenced

Valarmathi, a scientist from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has passed away due to a heart attack. She was known for her voiceovers during rocket launches in Sriharikota. Her last countdown was for the launch of Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission.

Chandrayaan-3 was launched on July 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. On August 23, the Lander Module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3, which included the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover, successfully landed on the lunar surface. This made India the fourth country to achieve this milestone and the first to reach the unexplored south pole of the moon.
