The Reliance Foundation Declares 10-Point Relief Plan for Victims of Odisha Train Accident; Deploys Disaster Management Crew to Support Relief Operations.

The Reliance Foundation Declares 10-Point Relief Plan for Victims of Odisha Train Accident; Deploys Disaster Management Crew to Support Relief Operations.

Reliance Foundation has announced a 10-point relief programme to help those affected by the train accident in Odisha. The programme will offer immediate and long-term support to affected families. Reliance Foundation has also mobilised its disaster management team to aid relief efforts on the ground.

The 10-point relief measures include free fuel for ambulances, free ration supplies for six months, free medicines for the injured, counselling services, employment opportunities for one family member of the deceased, support aids for people with disabilities, specialist skill training, microfinance and training opportunities for women, livestock provision for alternate livelihood support, and free mobile connectivity for a family member of the bereaved for a year.

Reliance Foundation’s disaster management team has been present in Balasore since the accident and has closely coordinated with emergency services. Volunteers have provided aid and assistance, including evacuating passengers, providing masks, gloves, ORS, bedsheets, lighting and other necessities for rescue efforts. Adequate drinking water has also been ensured and meals provided to rescue personnel and affected families.

Reliance Foundation has supported communities during natural disasters, including floods, cyclones, and earthquakes, as well as during the COVID-19 pandemic, through multiple initiatives aimed at ensuring relief and enabling rebuilding of lives and livelihoods. The foundation focuses on rural transformation, education, health, sports for development, women empowerment, disaster management, urban renewal and arts, culture and heritage.
