A 20-year-old woman was killed in the Kanjhawala area after her scooty was hit by a car and dragged for around 12 km. Seven people were charged in connection with the case, and on Tuesday, a Delhi court committed the case to the Court of Sessions for further proceedings. The court made this decision after the counsels for the accused submitted that they had scrutinised the charge sheet and other documents, which were complete.
The district judge will now assign the case to an additional Sessions Judge to conduct further proceedings. Among the seven accused, two had been given bail earlier. Amit Khanna and Ashutosh Bhardwaj were also booked in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act’s rules. According to the charge sheet, four of the accused have been accused of murder. The case will now move forward in the Court of Sessions.
