The Bathukamma festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the SR & BGNR College Grounds in Khammam on Sunday. The event was organised by The Hans India and HMTV and saw a large number of women participating in the festivities. The women, dressed in bright and colourful sarees, came together to celebrate the festival with joy.
The chief guests at the event spoke about the cultural importance of Bathukamma. They highlighted that the festival showcases the rich traditions and heritage of Telangana. They also mentioned how the festival brings people, especially women, together in celebration. According to them, Bathukamma is not just a festival, but a reminder of our connection with nature and the spirit of unity.
Many women carried their beautifully decorated Bathukammas and sang traditional folk songs, which created a joyful and colourful atmosphere at the grounds. The entire place was filled with vibrant flowers and happy sounds of celebration.
HMTV and The Hans India made sure that everything was well-organized for the event. They provided all the necessary arrangements to ensure the participants had a great experience. The celebrations started around 5 PM, with women and students eagerly joining the flower festival.

The event also included several cultural activities that entertained the audience. These included the Lalitha Sahasranama Archana, “Gowramma” puja, and other traditional performances that added to the charm of the celebration.
