In Gadwal, amidst the beginning of monsoon rains, a group of leaders from the All India Students Federation (AISF) gathered to protest against the commercialization of education. They voiced their concerns at the CPI party office, demanding justice for students and parents exploited by private corporate schools.
Viresh, Ganesh, Naresh, and other members of AISF were united in their criticism of private schools selling overpriced textbooks against government regulations. They accused district education officials of turning a blind eye to these violations, prioritizing greed over justice.
Naresh warned of potential protests and actions if authorities did not address the issue promptly. The community resonated with their concerns, as parents struggled to afford education costs while government schools lacked basic facilities.
District Collector B. Y. Santosh, known for advocating equitable education, took notice of AISF’s demands and ordered an investigation into the allegations. Despite resistance from private school owners, Santosh remained committed to ensuring fairness and accountability in the educational system.
Following the investigation, fines were imposed on errant schools, licenses were revoked if necessary, and fair pricing of educational materials was mandated. The AISF collaborated with the administration to monitor compliance, leading to infrastructural upgrades in government schools and ethical practices in private schools.
