Telangana Innovation Cell Honours Rural Innovators on Republic Day

In a bid to empower rural Telangana, the Telangana Innovation Cell (TGIC) celebrated the creativity of local communities by honoring 48 rural innovators on Republic Day. The recognition was part of the ‘Intinta Innovator’ programme, which aims to identify and encourage grassroots-level problem solvers.

The awards ceremony took place in individual villages, creating a moment of pride for local communities. Gram sarpanchs and Panchayat secretaries presented the awards to the innovators in front of their neighbors and peers. This initiative not only motivated villagers to address challenges within their communities but also inspired younger generations to think creatively and come up with solutions to local problems.

Officials revealed that the awardees came from diverse backgrounds, including housewives, schoolchildren, college students, and working professionals. They were recognized on January 26 for their innovative ideas and contributions. “This inclusive approach fosters an environment where people can continue to improve their solutions, contributing to the socio-economic development of the State,” an official explained. “It empowers communities to take charge of their own progress and build a brighter future.”

Meraj Faheem, the interim CEO of TGIC, highlighted the broader impact of the initiative. He said, “These awards symbolise our commitment to nurturing a culture where every village becomes a thriving hub of creativity, driving positive change for a better Telangana.”

This initiative by TGIC demonstrates how grassroots innovation can play a crucial role in shaping the development of rural areas, making them self-reliant and forward-looking.
