TGFDC conducts nature guide training at Amrabad Tiger Reserve

The Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TGFDC) recently organized a nature guide training program at Amrabad Tiger Reserve. This event, held under the brand name ‘Deccan Woods and Trails,’ took place from February 9 to 12. A total of 25 participants from Khammam, Mahbubabad, and Mulugu districts attended the training.

The main goal of this initiative was to improve eco-tourism skills and promote awareness about wildlife conservation. The training aimed to develop professional nature guides who could contribute to eco-tourism and conservation efforts in Telangana’s forests. The program was inaugurated by TGFDC’s executive director of eco-tourism, L. Ranjeet Nayak.

The four-day training included both theoretical and practical learning experiences. Participants attended interactive sessions on biodiversity conservation, wildlife tracking, eco-tourism best practices, forest laws, and human-wildlife conflict management. These sessions were led by expert naturalists who provided scientific knowledge and practical insights.

In addition to classroom learning, participants engaged in field activities such as early morning jungle safaris, where they observed and identified different wildlife species, including birds, herbivores, and predators. Guided nature hikes helped them develop navigation and tracking skills. They also took part in hands-on exercises like identifying plant species, learning observation techniques, and practicing eco-friendly trekking methods.

This training program played a crucial role in preparing aspiring nature guides to support eco-tourism and conservation efforts in Telangana’s wilderness areas.
