Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has strongly criticized the Congress government’s decision to sell 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli. He called it a careless move that would take away one of the city’s major green spaces.

KTR also said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made a false statement in the Assembly by claiming there were no animals on the land. He pointed out that, according to students and teachers from the University of Hyderabad, the area is home to rich biodiversity. It includes more than 700 types of flowering plants, 10 kinds of mammals, 15 types of reptiles, and over 200 species of birds. The land also has rock formations that are over a billion years old.

KTR expressed concern that the government plans to replace this natural area with shopping centers and tall buildings. He urged the Telangana government to stop what he called “reckless destruction” and protect the environment instead.
