Tensions Flare Again at City Temple as Authorities Seize Local Hotel

Hyderabad: Tension erupted at a temple in Kummariguda, Secunderabad, after a group of residents and religious members gathered to perform rituals on the road. This temple had recently been vandalized by a miscreant. On Thursday, devotees, including women and youth, came together at the temple where an idol had been damaged earlier in the week.

They set up tents in front of the temple and carried out pooja and other religious rituals. However, the police, who were present for security reasons after the incident, intervened. The police explained that the group did not have prior permission to hold the event and that their actions were causing traffic disruptions.

When the police attempted to remove the tents and carpets from the road, the crowd resisted and protested. This led to a brief moment of tension before the police managed to disperse the group and restore order.

In a separate incident on the same day, the Revenue Department, along with the Market police, evacuated guests from the Metropolis Hotel near the Regional Passport Office in Secunderabad. The hotel was seized by revenue officials with police support.

The Hyderabad police also filed a case against motivational speaker Munawar Zama, along with the owner and manager of the Metropolis Hotel, Abdul Rasheed Basheer Ahmed and Rehman. They were accused of provoking hatred and hurting religious sentiments. The case was related to a personality development workshop attended by a person named Salman, which was organized by the English House Academy under the supervision of Munawar Zama and others. The Gopalapuram police registered the case under sections 299, 192, 196, 223, and 49 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita after a complaint was filed by a sub-inspector from the Gopalapuram police station.
