The anniversaries of the Sri Sri Mahadeva Annapurna Temple and the Kalabhairava Swamy Temple were celebrated in Khanapur on Monday. The events were organized by the respective temple committees and saw participation from both priests and devotees.
The temple’s chief priests, including ChandiKala Bhairava Upasakas and Sri Vishnu Bhatla Kirti Raghava Sharma, along with a team of other priests, performed various rituals. These included Shanti Pathanam, Ganapati Puja, PunyahavaAnth, Rakshabandhan, temple purification, and Abhishekam to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. Additional rituals such as Patri Puja, Navagraha Kshetra Bala Yogini Sthan, and prayers to Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Maha Saraswati Ammavari were also conducted. Special homams like Maha Chandi Yagam, Kalabhairava Bhairavi Homam, Swarna Charaktika Bhairava Homam, and Patragira Homam were held as part of the celebrations.
During the event, Kalabhairava Sharma from Vijayawada delivered a religious discourse to the devotees, adding a spiritual dimension to the occasion. Following the ceremonies, a “Maha Annadanam” (mass feeding program) was organized by the temple committee, providing food to all visitors.
Leaders from political parties such as Congress, BJP, and BRS also visited the temple during the celebrations. They performed special pujas separately, marking their presence at the auspicious event.
