The LEADS report is an annual initiative by DPIIT aimed at improving logistics efficiency across Indian states. It fosters healthy competition and cooperative federalism. Telangana has consistently been a top performer in this area, standing out for its comprehensive approach to logistics infrastructure, technology integration, capacity building, and strategic policymaking.

Telangana has emerged as a logistics hub, thanks to its proactive government policies and industry-friendly initiatives. These efforts have significantly boosted the state’s contribution to the nation’s economy and enhanced supply chain efficiency.

One of the key factors behind Telangana’s success is its strong infrastructure. Hyderabad, the state’s capital, plays a crucial role as a logistics center. It boasts a world-class international airport, extensive road networks, and connectivity to multiple industrial corridors.

The state government is also working on ambitious projects like the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Radial Roads, and new greenfield expressways. The development of dry ports and logistics parks is further enhancing connectivity. These initiatives aim to strengthen Telangana’s cargo-handling capabilities, catering to both domestic and international markets.

Technology has been another critical driver of Telangana’s logistics success. The state has adopted advanced tools such as IoT, AI, and blockchain to optimize supply chain operations. These technologies have improved real-time tracking, reduced transit times, and streamlined operations. Telangana’s Logistics Policy has also played a key role in eliminating procedural hurdles and enhancing last-mile connectivity.

The state government has prioritized training and capacity building in the logistics sector. It established the School of Logistics and E-Commerce, the first school under the Young India Skills University, to provide industry-driven skilling programs. Telangana has also excelled in green logistics and promoting women’s participation in the logistics sector, setting an example for others.

By focusing on advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and skill development, Telangana continues to lead the way in India’s logistics sector, setting new benchmarks and cementing its position as a national leader.
