Heavy rains have caused problems in several districts of Telangana, including Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, and Gadwal. Bridges were breached and flood water overflowed on culverts and small barrages, cutting off road connectivity in many villages. In Vikarabad district, an RTC bus got stuck in flood waters, and passengers had to wait for one hour until rescue teams arrived.
Due to continuous rain for the past 24 hours, Nizamabad district officials declared holidays for all educational institutions. Sriram Sagar lifted four gates to manage heavy inflows from catchment areas. Railway stations, bus stations, local markets, and low-lying areas were flooded. People were advised to stay indoors as the Pulang rivulet in Bodhan town overflowed.
Farmers in Sadashivnagar, Bhiknur, Bibipet, and Rajampet mandals in Kamareddy district suffered crop damage due to floods. Agriculture officials asked farmers to report the loss so that immediate relief could be provided. Vehicular movement was affected in Brahmanapally, Chandapur, Tekriyual, and Kalojiwadi due to overflowing rivulets.
In Jagtial district, residents of Korutla and Metpally faced difficulties leaving their homes due to flooded roads. The highest rainfall was recorded in Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district (10.1 cm), followed by Pulkal in Sangareddy (9 cm), Chilipchad in Medak (8.8 cm), and Mominpet in Vikarabad (7.7 cm).
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rains in northern Telangana districts for Wednesday and Thursday due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Citizens were advised to prepare for rain havoc in the next three days.
