Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed the state to create a plan to ensure a steady and reliable supply of electricity. This is important as Telangana is rapidly growing into a significant business hub. The CM, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, held a high-level meeting to review the power sector and discussed various strategies to meet the state’s future electricity needs.
One of the key focus areas is increasing solar power production. The state plans to take steps to boost the generation and use of solar energy to meet the rising demand for electricity.
The government is also looking at utilizing unused lands under various departments to generate solar power. This will help in making better use of idle land while boosting the state’s electricity supply.
To support farmers, the state plans to provide free solar pump sets. This initiative is aimed at encouraging farmers to use solar energy, which is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
A pilot project will be launched in Kondareddipalle to explore the use of solar power as an alternative to cooking gas. Women’s groups in the area will receive training to help implement this initiative.
Additionally, the state is considering producing solar power in forested areas. This is part of a broader effort to explore all possible avenues for increasing solar energy production.
The government has set an ambitious target of ensuring the availability of 40,000 megawatts of electricity annually. This will be crucial for supporting the state’s growth as a business and industrial hub.
Finally, the state aims to solve the issue of power overloads permanently. This will ensure that there is an uninterrupted supply of electricity across Telangana.
These initiatives are all part of the government’s plan to make Telangana self-sufficient in power supply, which is essential for its continued growth and development.
