Telangana is experiencing a sharp rise in temperatures after a brief period of cooler weather caused by unseasonal rain and hailstorms. Now, 25 districts across the state have recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.
The highest temperature was recorded in Neradigonda, Adilabad, where it reached 41°C on Thursday, according to the Telangana Development Planning Society. Five other districts reported 40.9°C, and four more saw temperatures of 40.8°C.
In Hyderabad, the temperature reached 39.7°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that over the next 24 hours, the city’s maximum temperature is expected to stay around 39°C, while the minimum will be about 25°C.
Just last week, cloudy skies, rain, and hailstorms had helped keep the temperatures lower. But now that the skies have cleared, the heat has returned and is spreading across the state.
