Telangana Government Plans to Develop Future City as a Net Zero City

Hyderabad: At the Green Telangana Summit held at Novotel, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the government’s ambitious plan to develop Future City as a net zero city. The event was organized in collaboration with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) to promote sustainability and environmental protection in the state.

Bhatti Vikramarka stated that Future City would serve as a model for the world. To support this initiative, the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IGBC. This partnership will help ensure the success of the project.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that government policies will focus on both state development and the welfare of all citizens. He highlighted the importance of environmental protection and stated that the government is taking steps to promote health and sustainability.

To encourage the use of electric vehicles (EVs), the government has introduced exemptions. Bhatti Vikramarka acknowledged that this decision might result in lower state revenue, but he stressed that public health takes priority over financial concerns. The new EV policy reflects the government’s commitment to a cleaner environment.

Apart from the Future City project, the government has also allocated thousands of crores to improve Hyderabad’s infrastructure. Additionally, efforts are being made to beautify the Musi River as part of a broader environmental conservation plan.

Through these initiatives, Telangana aims to lead the way in sustainable urban development. The government remains committed to creating a greener and healthier future for its citizens.
