Telangana Liberation Day Celebrations Held at Secunderabad Parade Grounds on Tuesday

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, extended his greetings on the occasion of Telangana Liberation Day. He criticized previous state governments, accusing them of trying to suppress the history of Telangana’s liberation.

Speaking at the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations at Secunderabad Parade Grounds, which was organized by the Union Culture Ministry, Sanjay Kumar stated that if past governments had not altered history, Telangana Liberation Day would have been celebrated every year on September 17, much like Independence Day on August 15 and Republic Day on January 26.

Sanjay Kumar questioned why Telangana did not gain independence on August 15, 1947, like the rest of India. He referenced the film “Rajakar,” which portrays the history of Telangana’s struggle for liberation, praising the filmmakers for their efforts. He emphasized that the celebration of Telangana Liberation Day by the central government is aimed at educating future generations about the true history.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for agreeing to officially celebrate Telangana Liberation Day. He also thanked Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Kishan Reddy, for taking the initiative to organize the event.
