Protest by Telangana Chief Minister

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of Telangana has announced that the State government will not attend the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting. This meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on July 27.

The Chief Minister made this announcement in the State Assembly. He expressed dissatisfaction with the Union budget, stating that the central government has ignored Telangana’s requests and shown discrimination in budget allocations.

Revanth Reddy said that the State Assembly strongly protested against the central government’s neglect. As a result, they decided to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting to highlight the injustice done to Telangana.

The Prime Minister is the chairman of NITI Aayog, and the meeting will be conducted under his leadership. The Chief Minister pointed out that Telangana’s interests have been harmed, funds due to the state have not been released, and necessary permissions have not been granted.

Reddy’s decision to boycott follows similar actions by the governments of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, who also announced their intention to skip the NITI Aayog meeting.
