Telangana Secures Over ₹60,000 Crore Investments at Davos Summit
Telangana achieved a major milestone on Wednesday during the ongoing Davos Summit, securing investments worth over ₹60,000 crore. Led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the state delegation signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with global companies, marking a significant step in the state’s economic development.
One of the largest commitments came from Sun Petrochemicals, which pledged ₹45,000 crore to establish a solar power project and a large-scale pumped storage power unit. These projects will be developed in the Nagarkurnool, Mancherial, and Mulugu districts and are expected to create around 7,000 jobs. This marks the biggest single agreement Telangana has secured at Davos to date.
In the IT sector, leading companies HCLTech and CtrlS Datacenters signed MoUs to expand their operations in Hyderabad. HCLTech announced plans for a 320,000-square-foot technology center in Hi-Tech City. The facility will focus on cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. It aims to serve industries such as life sciences, financial services, and hi-tech sectors while providing jobs to 5,000 IT professionals.
The new HCLTech center, certified Gold by the Indian Green Building Council, is scheduled to open in February. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu are expected to inaugurate the facility. HCLTech CEO & Managing Director C Vijayakumar highlighted Hyderabad’s strong infrastructure and talent pool as key factors behind the company’s expansion.
Meanwhile, CtrlS Datacenters announced an ambitious ₹10,000 crore investment to set up an AI Datacenter Cluster in Hyderabad. With a massive 400 MW capacity, the project is set to create 3,600 direct and indirect jobs. It also promises to contribute significantly to the local economy through enhanced tax revenues.
IT & Industries Minister Sridhar Babu described the partnership with CtrlS as a “significant milestone” in Telangana’s journey to becoming a global hub for digital infrastructure. He stated that the AI Datacenter Cluster would strengthen the state’s IT capabilities and boost inclusive growth through job creation.
CtrlS Founder & CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy expressed his excitement about the project, calling it transformative. He added that the initiative would set new benchmarks in innovation, sustainability, and infrastructure, further contributing to Telangana’s growth and global reputation.
These developments underline Telangana’s growing appeal as a prime destination for investors, showcasing its commitment to sustainable growth and technological advancement.
