Telangana government still undecided on Rythu Bharosa, says Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao

Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that the state government has not yet made any decisions about farmer insurance. Speaking in the assembly, he clarified that the government has only shared the procedures followed by the previous administration and has not included any mention of farmer insurance in its proposals.

The minister reassured members of the assembly that the government is open to receiving their feedback before forming guidelines. He explained, “We are committed to working on whatever the government proposes. At this stage, we have not decided on financial assistance for specific crops. Decisions will be made after discussing and considering the suggestions from assembly members.”

Minister Rao also addressed concerns about specific crops like cotton and sugarcane. He urged assembly members to share their opinions, stating, “If members indicate their preferences, we will review and make decisions accordingly.” He further emphasized that there have been no discussions about cutting the farmer bond and promised that policies will be shaped based on the views of both the public and assembly members.

The minister’s remarks highlight the government’s intention to involve stakeholders, including the public and assembly members, in creating a farmer insurance policy that works for everyone in Telangana.
