The Telangana government has decided to stop extravagant spending this year and create a genuine budget for the 2024-2025 financial year. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy held a meeting with top officials to review the state’s finances and suggested that the budget should reflect the reality of the state’s revenue and expenditure. The officials were asked to reduce wasteful expenses and prepare an estimate of the state’s income, government employee salaries, and funding for implementing six guarantees. The CM emphasized the responsibility of fulfilling promises made during the elections and using existing resources instead of buying new ones. The officials were also reminded to make use of grants provided by the Center and not give up any funds from the state’s share.
