Campa Cricket Tournament Concludes in Nagarkurnool
The Campa Cricket Tournament, held at the District Boys’ High School Grounds in Nagarkurnool, wrapped up successfully on Thursday. A total of 20 teams from across the Nagarkurnool constituency participated in the event. The final match saw an exciting contest between the Nagarkurnool team and the Telkapalli team, with Nagarkurnool emerging as the winners.
MLA Dr. Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy attended the event as the chief guest and presented awards to the winners. During his speech, he emphasized the importance of promoting sports and supporting athletes. He mentioned that encouraging sports is a key focus of the Telangana government, and highlighted initiatives like the CM Cup introduced by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The MLA also shared plans to establish a stadium in the constituency to provide athletes with better facilities.
Dr. Rajesh Reddy further stressed the role of sports in maintaining physical and mental health. He encouraged young people to participate in sports while also maintaining regular exercise routines. He praised Campa NSKD Distributor Houdekar Naveen for successfully organizing the tournament.
The Nagarkurnool team, the tournament winners, received a cash prize of ₹20,000 and a trophy, presented by the MLA.
Several prominent figures attended the event, including Congress leaders Ramana Rao, Konda Nagesh, Kotayya, as well as councilors MD Nizamuddin, Srinivasulu, and Jakka Raju. Their presence added to the significance of the occasion.
The tournament was a testament to the community’s enthusiasm for sports and its commitment to nurturing local talent.
