At the event, 20 candidates who passed the UPSC Civil Services Mains exam and qualified for interviews were each given a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh. This financial support, part of the Rajiv Gandhi Civil Services Abhayahastham Scheme, was provided with assistance from Singareni Collieries. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was also present during the distribution.
The Chief Minister clarified that the Rs. 1 lakh is not merely financial aid but a token of encouragement. He expressed the government’s desire to see more Telangana candidates succeed in Civil Services examinations and increase the state’s representation at the national level.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the government’s efforts to tackle unemployment. He noted that the last decade saw minimal recruitment, causing significant challenges for job seekers. However, under his administration, 55,143 government jobs were filled within the first year, setting a new benchmark for the nation.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the revival of Group 1 exams, which had not been conducted in the past 14 years, including during the period of unified Andhra Pradesh. His government successfully initiated the exams for 563 Group 1 positions and is on track to complete the recruitment process by March 31 of the following year.
Encouraging Civil Services aspirants, Revanth Reddy urged them to stay determined, as persistence leads to success. He expressed hope that more candidates from Telangana will secure Civil Services positions and contribute to the state’s growth and its role in national governance.
The government is also taking steps to support Civil Services aspirants with various encouragement initiatives. The Chief Minister shared his dream of Telangana becoming the state with the highest number of Civil Services selections, making it a source of pride for the region.
In a separate announcement, an agreement was signed between Singareni Collieries and Bank of Baroda to provide financial security for Singareni employees. Under the agreement, each worker will now be insured for Rs. 1.25 crore in case of an accident.
