Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced a historic move by his government, waiving ₹21,000 crore in loans for 25 lakh farmer families within its first year in power. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the three-day Rythu Panduga (Farmers’ Festival) in Amistapur, Mahabubnagar district, he emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to farmers’ welfare.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers, advisors, and public representatives. As part of the celebrations, the CM revealed an additional ₹2,747.67 crore loan waiver for 3,13,897 farmer families. This brought the total loan waiver amount to ₹21,000 crore, benefiting 25 lakh farmers across the state.

During his speech, Revanth Reddy declared that farmers are now the “brand ambassadors” of the people’s government. Highlighting the state’s achievements despite challenges like delayed water supply from Kaleshwaram, he noted that Telangana recorded an impressive production of 1.53 crore metric tons of paddy across 66 lakh acres. Additionally, farmers were provided a bonus of ₹500 per quintal to further support their efforts.

The CM also virtually launched several development projects during the event. He announced ₹255 crore for women’s federations in Mahabubnagar district and reiterated his commitment to irrigating 20 lakh acres in Palamuru through Green Channel funds. He also promised industrial projects in Kodangal, which are expected to create employment opportunities for 25,000 women and youth in the region.

Addressing concerns about land acquisition, Revanth Reddy assured fair compensation, proper rehabilitation, and job opportunities for affected families. As a native of the district, he pledged to drive its progress through improved irrigation, funding, and developmental initiatives.

The grand event saw the participation of prominent leaders, including Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Seethakka, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Ponnam Prabhakar, making it a significant occasion for the state.
