Telangana Braces for Heavy Rains Over Four Days; Yellow Alert Issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a low-pressure system is currently present over the northwest Bay of Bengal. This system is not near Bangladesh but is still causing significant changes in the weather. These changes include the expansion of surface circulation and the formation of a trough that stretches from Konkan to the southeast Arabian Sea. As a result, both southern and northern parts of Karnataka are experiencing weather disturbances.

Because of this weather system, Telangana is expected to receive heavy rainfall over the next four days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Telangana, such as Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Vanaparthi, Narayanapet, and Jogulamba Gadwala. People living in these areas should stay alert, as the forecast also warns of thunderstorms and lightning.

In the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several districts. These include Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitamaraju, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, and Sri Sathya Sai. The Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Agency has also predicted light rain in other areas, such as Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, YSR, Annamaiya, Chittoor, and Tirupati.
