Teachers from 13 districts submit representations to CM from school

Government school teachers from 13 districts in Telangana have once again submitted a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the sub-committee on GOMS 317, asking for a quick resolution. The teachers, around 1,500 in total, have been waiting for two years to be transferred to their spouse’s district under the couple category. This separation is causing emotional distress as they have to travel over 200 kms for work.

Last year, the Education Department prepared a file to resolve 1,656 applications for transfers. However, only 615 school assistants were transferred due to direct recruitment instructions from the previous government. The remaining teachers are still waiting for their transfers to be approved.
