Teachers express anger... Wake up politicians

Government teachers in Hyderabad are expressing their frustration with the lack of attention they receive from the government. Private teachers feel ignored and believe that the government does not value their hard work. During their nine years in power, the government did not provide health schemes, housing schemes, or a pension scheme for private teachers. Even during the pandemic, many private teachers did not receive the promised financial aid and food supplies. Some teachers have even taken their own lives or left the profession as a result. The government has also failed to hold any review meetings to address the concerns of private teachers or improve the education system.

In the past, private teachers have been supportive of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party. However, they are now considering voting for other parties in the upcoming election. They want a party that will prioritize their welfare and work towards improving the education system in Telangana. Private school teacher Bhaskar Rathod believes that the government has not only neglected their problems but has also damaged the positive relationship between teachers. He criticizes the government’s lack of vision and interest in improving school standards and claims that they have no recognition for the hard work of private teachers. There is also a lack of fee regulation and monitoring of private schools, many of which are owned by politicians.

Nirupama, another private school teacher, highlights the fact that teachers are also taxpayers. However, the government has not made employee health schemes, pension schemes, housing loans, or provident fund systems compulsory for private teachers. Salaries in most private schools are low and there is no regulation to ensure fair wages. The government has not made any efforts to improve the education system, such as adopting a standard practice for conducting the National Talent Search Examination.

Private teachers in Hyderabad are now contemplating their voting choices and considering whether to vote for a party that addresses their concerns or choose the NOTA option. They believe it is time for a change and for the government to prioritize their needs and the improvement of education in the state.
