Wanaparthy: Samagra Shiksha Employees Continue Strike for 19th Day

For the past 19 days, Samagra Shiksha employees have been on an indefinite strike in front of the district collectorate in Wanaparthy. They are urging the government to address their demands, which include regularizing all Samagra Shiksha employees across Telangana, as promised by CM Revanth Reddy. They are also calling for the immediate implementation of a pay scale, ex-gratia payments for the families of deceased employees, and resolutions to issues related to health and job security.

On Sunday, teacher unions such as PRTU TG, STU, and TSGHMA, along with district and State leaders, joined the protest to show their support. They expressed solidarity with the employees and emphasized the need for the government to take action.

The union leaders pointed out that the ongoing strike has disrupted the education system, particularly in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). Students preparing for exams are struggling due to incomplete syllabi and the absence of teaching staff. This has created significant challenges for both students and their families.

Additionally, the strike is affecting school operations beyond teaching. Employees responsible for providing mid-day meals and addressing other school-related needs have also joined the protest. This has caused logistical and operational issues within schools. The union leaders urged the government to respond immediately and take concrete steps to fulfill the employees’ demands.
