TDP divides into three factions against 'RRR' candidacy in Undi; Naidu and Pawan to campaign in Godavari districts today

The TDP-BJP-JSP alliance is planning to hold big campaigns in the former Godavari districts on April 10 and 11. The campaign, called ‘Praja Galam’, will feature TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and will cover areas like Tanuku, Nidadavole, P. Gannavaram, and Amalapuram Assembly.

However, the opposition alliance in Andhra Pradesh is facing issues in West Godavari district as sitting MLAs are unhappy with the choice of candidates being given tickets. For instance, in Undi, TDP leader Vetukuri Venkata Siva Ramaraju has decided to run as an independent candidate after not receiving a ticket from the party despite his hard work over the past five years.

On the other hand, TDP had initially chosen sitting MLA Manthena Rama Raju for the Undi Assembly seat, but it seems that Chandrababu Naidu has now decided to field YSRCP Narsapuram rebel MP K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju for the seat. This has caused dissent within the TDP ranks, with leaders from Undi protesting against Naidu’s decision during a recent meeting.

Despite Naidu warning Rama Raju against provoking the party cadres, it is clear that both Siva Ramaraju and Manthena Rama Raju do not support Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s candidacy for Undi. This situation is expected to be a challenge for Naidu in the upcoming elections.
