Gadwal: Following the news about farmers seeking government action against counterfeit seed sales, task force officials have started conducting raids on seed shops in Ieeja town. This comes as farmers are buying seeds like cotton, chilli, coriander, and castor in large quantities for the monsoon season. Task force members are telling shop owners to only sell branded seeds and warning of strict action if fake seeds are planted by farmers.
Shop owners are being urged to give original receipts to farmers who purchase seeds. The operation involved AO Shankar Lal, Head Constable Amarnath, and others. The goal of these raids is to protect farmers from the harmful effects of counterfeit seeds, which can greatly reduce crop yields and overall agricultural productivity. Officials stress the importance of maintaining the integrity of the seed supply for the success of the upcoming planting season.
AO Shankar Lal, Head Constable Amarnath, and other officials took part in the raids on Friday morning.
