CHENNAI: The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) has taken strict action against actors who have taken advances but failed to complete their shoots.
Complaints have been pouring in against actor Dhanush for not completing his shooting commitments despite taking advances. In response, the TFPC has expressed its displeasure and decided that Dhanush’s future projects will only proceed if he has the necessary permissions.
The council has decided to halt new film shoots from August 15 onwards. Actors will only be allowed to start new projects after completing their pending ones. The council has requested reports from producers on pending films and advances given.
Moving forward, the council will ensure that actors can only take on new projects after completing their current ones. Additionally, actors will no longer be allowed to take advances.
The council also decided that films featuring star actors can only be released on OTT platforms 8 weeks (56 days) after their theatrical release. No new Tamil film shoots will commence after August 15. All ongoing projects must be completed by October 31, and no shooting permissions will be granted from November 1 onwards.
