T-Diagnostics nears the brink of shutting down

Former Health minister T Harish Rao criticized the State government for not paying salaries to doctors and staff at Telangana Diagnostics centres for the last six months. He said that the diagnostic hubs, set up by the previous government to provide free services, have collapsed under the current government.

Rao mentioned that the previous government had established 36 diagnostic centres across the state, offering over 134 types of diagnostic tests free of cost to the public. He emphasized that these centres were crucial in ensuring that poor and common people could access quality medical tests without financial burden.

The BRS leader highlighted that the staff at these centres have not been paid for six months, indicating a lack of attention to public health by the current government. He urged the government to pay salaries to the staff and ensure that the diagnostic centres resume providing all necessary services to the people.

In 2021, the state government launched Telangana diagnostics hubs to offer free quality diagnostic and imaging services to the public. The services initially included pathological tests and later expanded to include imaging services like X-ray, ECG, MRI, ultrasound, and CT scan. Each district headquarter had a hub for these services.
