The Supreme Court has shown concern about the delay in investigating the Disproportionate Assets case against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan. They have asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to explain the reasons for the delay within four weeks.

During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju mentioned that discharge petitions were causing delays in the investigation. The court urged that the investigation should not be delayed for political reasons.

Justice Sanjeev Khanna highlighted that political leaders, including the Chief Minister, should not influence the investigation. The Supreme Court stated that they will look into matters like bail cancellation and transfer petitions in relation to the case during the ongoing investigation. The next hearing has been adjourned to a week after August 5.
