Former Jubilee Hills MLA and Congress leader Vishnuvardhan Reddy’s followers protested in front of Gandhi Bhavan because he was denied a ticket for the upcoming assembly elections. They were angry at PCC President Revanth Reddy. The tension escalated to the point where the staff at Gandhi Bhavan had to close the inner gate. Vishnuvardhan Reddy’s followers even burned Congress flags and threw stones at flexies of Revanth Reddy during the protest.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy expressed his disappointment with the party’s decision. He questioned why he didn’t receive a ticket when others from the same family did. He mentioned receiving offers from other parties but hasn’t decided whether to leave the Congress. Reddy said he will meet with his party followers to discuss the next steps.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy confirmed that he will still be contesting from Jubilee Hills in the upcoming elections. He believes PJR (P. Janardhan Reddy) is synonymous with Hyderabad and assured that his name will be on the ballot box.
