Sugarcane Farmers' Dues: Telangana FM Harish Rao Orders Officials to Settle Payments

Finance Minister Harish Rao has instructed officials to pay the outstanding bills to sugarcane farmers who supplied Trident Sugar Factory in Sangareddy district. The factory owes Rs. 12.05 crores to the farmers. Harish Rao expressed his frustration during a meeting at his residence in Hyderabad, stating that the factory owner had promised to pay by June 25 but has failed to do so. He also urged officials to promptly pay the pending dues to the employees.

Harish Rao emphasized that if the factory does not meet its payment obligations, its properties will be auctioned off to compensate the farmers. Additionally, he warned that the factory’s license will be revoked and it will be removed from the zone if they continue to be negligent. The minister has requested the factory management to provide a timeline for the payment of the outstanding bills in writing.
