Doctors Save Sudanese Baby's Life in Hyderabad
Doctors at Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad have successfully saved the life of a baby boy from Sudan, giving him a fresh chance at life.
The baby, born just a month ago, was facing severe health issues, including infections and respiratory problems. The team at Niloufer Hospital worked tirelessly for nearly a month to provide free treatment and ensure the baby’s recovery.
The child’s parents, a couple from Sudan, had come to Hyderabad a year ago for IVF treatment at a private hospital. After a successful procedure, the mother gave birth to the baby boy. Tragically, shortly after his birth, the baby was diagnosed with a blood infection, brain infection, and lung complications, leaving him in critical condition.
Initially, the baby was treated in the ICU for six days at the private hospital. However, due to the family’s financial struggles, they were referred to Niloufer Hospital for further care. At Niloufer, the doctors provided comprehensive treatment at no cost, along with accommodation for the parents. After weeks of dedicated medical efforts, the baby made a full recovery and was discharged on Tuesday.
The baby’s mother, a 43-year-old woman, shared her deep gratitude to the doctors for saving her son. She revealed that she had suffered five miscarriages in the past and endured years of heartbreak before seeking IVF treatment in Hyderabad.
Dr. Swapna, a neonatologist at Niloufer, confirmed that the baby is now fully healthy. Dr. Ravi Kumar, the hospital’s superintendent, and RV Karnan, the Health and Family Welfare Commissioner, commended the medical team for their remarkable efforts in saving the infant’s life.
