Suburban Train Travellers Association Submits Requests to Officials
The Suburban Train Travellers Association met with South Central Railway (SCR) officials and Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender on Monday. They submitted a memorandum requesting the extension of the Vishakapatnam-Mahabubnagar express train up to Kurnool city or Mantralayam road. This move, they explained, would benefit devotees traveling to the shrine of Mantralaya Raghavendra Swamy. Additionally, they requested a train halt at Malkajgiri Railway Station for the convenience of passengers.
The association also brought up the need to expedite pending infrastructure projects. They urged officials to begin work on Road over Bridges (RoB), Road under Bridges (RuB), and subways near Neredmet railway station and LC Gate No. 255 in Malkajgiri at the earliest.
Noor, the president of the MMTS Travellers Association, suggested another improvement. He proposed adding an extra platform near the Malkajgiri East booking office. This, he said, would reduce the need for passengers to use lifts and escalators, ultimately saving electricity.
The association hopes their requests will be addressed soon, improving travel convenience and infrastructure for local commuters and devotees alike.
