Students Protest Over Poor Conditions at BC Gurukul School
In Batasingaram, students from BC Gurukul School staged a protest on Wednesday to raise concerns about the poor conditions at their school. The students took to the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway to voice their frustrations, especially regarding the quality of food and their classroom environments.
The protest began early in the morning when the students, feeling ignored by school authorities, decided to bring attention to their problems by blocking the highway. The demonstration caused traffic to stop, and the students called for the government to step in and address their concerns immediately.
One student, speaking anonymously, shared, “We have raised our complaints multiple times, but nothing has changed. We want better food and a safe learning environment.” The students explained that the food served in their hostel has gotten worse, causing health problems. They also pointed out overcrowded classrooms and a lack of learning materials, which they said are affecting their education.
The protest quickly gained attention from local media and passersby, many of whom supported the students’ demands. Parents of the students also joined the protest, urging officials to listen to their children and take action.
Local authorities responded by saying they would investigate the students’ claims. A representative from the Ranga Reddy District Education Office stated, “We take these complaints seriously and will ensure that proper measures are taken to improve the situation at the school.”
Despite the protest continuing into the afternoon, the students remained firm in their demands, insisting that something be done immediately. One protester emphasized, “Education is our future, and we deserve better.”
The situation is still developing, with hopes that discussions between school officials, government representatives, and the students will lead to a solution.
