There is potential for collaboration between different institutions to offer multi-disciplinary courses and create new career opportunities for students. The NEP-2020 is seen as a positive step towards allowing students to explore different interests and career paths based on market demands.
Encouraging students to pursue only traditional paths like IITs may not be sufficient in today’s rapidly changing job market. Embracing multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary approaches could be the way forward, but it remains to be seen whether the State government or the State Higher Education department will take the lead in making necessary changes.
