State's BFSI training program to generate 30,000 jobs in three years

The Telangana State government’s ‘BFSI-Skilling’ programme, designed specifically for BTech graduates, is receiving a great response.

On Sunday, an eligibility test was conducted for the programme. Those who qualify will receive thorough training at the Young India Skill University (yisu.in) until July this year. The training will cover important areas such as banking operations, financial markets, insurance, investment banking, software programming, database management, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and soft skills.

After successfully completing the training, candidates will be placed in Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad, which are linked to the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy aims to connect education with industry needs, making Telangana a hub for skilled professionals. To achieve this, the government established the Skill University, with IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu playing a crucial role in introducing industry-focused courses.

Hyderabad’s business-friendly atmosphere is attracting global companies, especially in the BFSI sector. Minister Sridhar Babu is committed to ensuring that Telangana’s youth secure these promising jobs by providing specialised skill training. To align the training with industry needs, the Minister has collaborated with BFSI experts from India, the USA, and Singapore, along with GCC management teams.

This ambitious initiative will train 10,000 graduates every year—5,000 from engineering backgrounds and 5,000 from other degree courses. Over the next three years, 30,000 young professionals will benefit from this programme. The first batch started in September last year, with training costs covered by EQUIPP and the BFSI Consortium. Students only need to pay a small admission fee of Rs 5,000, which covers certification and administrative expenses.

So far, two batches have successfully completed their training, and the eligibility test for the third batch was recently conducted. Graduates looking for job opportunities are encouraged to visit the Skill University’s website (yisu.in) for updates and further details.
