    State to Enhance Road Safety with Adoption of High-Tech Solutions: Minister

    Hyderabad:
    Minister for Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, announced that the government will use advanced technology to reduce road accidents and improve safety for drivers in the State. This technology is commonly used in advanced countries.

    During a meeting with representatives from the World Bank on Monday, the Minister discussed the use of modern methods like smart road technology, intelligent traffic management, and automated construction. He also mentioned plans to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in future road projects to make the roads safer and less likely to cause accidents.

    The Minister highlighted that the State is following the standards set by the World Road Congress in its road construction projects. He also noted that the government is working to set up trauma care centers along most highways. One such center is currently being built on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway.

    World Bank Chief Transport Officer, Renu Anuja, was also present at the meeting. She provided information to the Minister about road construction projects in other states, done with the support of the World Bank.
