Hyderabad: The State government is all set to begin construction of the Young India Skill University at Kandukur in Ranga Reddy from November 6.
The new university will be built on a large campus covering 57 acres. The construction will include various buildings such as academic blocks, administrative buildings, workshops, hostels for boys and girls, dining halls, and staff quarters. All these structures will meet international standards.
The campus design, recently approved by the State government, will also feature a world-class auditorium, a library, a large open area, and parking facilities. The open spaces will include greenery, providing a pleasant environment for around 6,000 students who will be trained in important skills that are in high demand.
To make the campus more energy-efficient, all buildings will have solar panels to meet their energy needs and reduce electricity consumption. Some buildings, like the workshops and academic blocks, are designed to use natural air, which will reduce the need for air conditioning.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed the construction company, Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), to ensure that the facilities are of international standards and attract national attention. The construction, expected to start on November 6, is planned to be completed within eight to ten months.
MEIL has contributed Rs 200 crore as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and is taking the lead in building the university in an innovative manner. Additionally, the Adani Group has contributed Rs 100 crore toward the project.
