A BJP leader in Telangana, NVSS Prabhakar, claimed that the state government is not functioning properly. He said that 19 lakh students’ original certificates are stuck in colleges because the government has not cleared fee reimbursement schemes.
Prabhakar stated that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his ministers have promised to pay Rs 6,500 crore in fee reimbursements, but students have not received their certificates. Additionally, 1,500 small businesses are struggling because the government owes them Rs 3,300 crore in subsidies and incentives. School students are also facing issues with pending scholarships and delays in receiving free textbooks and uniforms.
The government has said that ration cards are necessary for social welfare programs and farm loan waivers. However, they have not issued any new ration cards despite promising to consider updates. Prabhakar questioned why issuing ration cards was not a top priority if they are so important.
The Praja Palana program at Praja Bhavan has seen a significant drop in attendance, indicating a lack of progress on government initiatives. Prabhakar also criticized the government for not maintaining a job calendar that accommodates various exam schedules and ensures a smooth academic year.
