Today, on April 19, 2023, the prices for petrol and diesel have not changed. In Delhi, petrol costs Rs. 96.72 per litre and diesel is Rs. 89.62 per litre. In Hyderabad, petrol is priced at Rs. 109.66 per litre and diesel is Rs. 97.82 per litre. Chennai’s petrol price is Rs. 102.65 per litre and diesel is Rs. 94.24 per litre. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s petrol costs Rs. 106.31 per litre and diesel remains at Rs. 97,28 per litre. Lastly, in Bangalore, petrol is priced at Rs. 101.94 per litre while diesel is Rs. 87.89 per litre.
India depends on imported crude oil for petrol and diesel which affects the prices of fuel. Other factors such as increasing demand, taxes imposed by the government, exchange rate of rupee to dollar and refinery concept ratio also have an impact on domestic fuel prices.
