IT Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu visited rain-affected areas in Manthani on Wednesday. He advised people to be cautious due to the heavy rains that have hit the State for the last four days.
The Minister inspected the Godavari River in Manthani to assess the situation. Speaking to the media afterward, he mentioned that officials have been alerted and are taking necessary steps to prevent any loss of property or life because of the ongoing heavy rains.
He assured that the government is fully prepared to handle the situation. The officials are releasing floodwaters downstream, knowing that heavy rains in Maharashtra may lead to more flooding in the state’s projects.
The Minister also instructed the municipal staff to clean drains and remove garbage in the Manthani municipal area immediately.
Additionally, he ordered district medical officers to take precautions against mosquito-borne diseases, which might spread due to the rains. He advised them to organize health camps and provide medical care if there are cases of viral fever in any village.
Finally, after discussing with the agriculture officer over the phone, the Minister directed officials to visit the fields where crops have been damaged and to record the extent of the damage.
