Former minister and Congress MLA D Sridhar Babu has announced that all applications from beneficiaries seeking six-guarantees will undergo thorough screening. However, the State government has not yet formulated the details of the ration cards. Sridhar Babu blamed the previous government for failing to issue new ration cards and neglecting the matter. Starting from December 28, those seeking ‘IndirammaIndlu’ can also apply, and eligible candidates will be identified during the screening process.
To identify the beneficiaries, officials will reach out to the people to collect data. Each division will have four ‘Team Leaders’ positioned at different quarters to manage the expected crowd at the Division level. Each team leader will be assisted by seven individuals, and there will be a separate line for women and differently-abled individuals. The government has also established a time-table for each ward, and public representatives will coordinate information flow in each ward.
The review meeting was attended by GHMC officers appointed as ‘Special Officers’ for the PrajaPalana program, along with Zonal officials. Mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, GHMC commissioner Ronald Ross, and Collector Anudeep were also present. The ‘Praja Vani’ event at Praja Bhavan received an overwhelming response with a total of 22,000 applications. The Minister Ponnam Prabhakar assured that each applicant will receive an acknowledgement receipt, and guidelines will be formulated once all the data is collected. Pension beneficiaries do not need to apply.
In a separate meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam met with the party’s Assembly candidates from the city. He stated that they will play a key role in the ‘PrajaPalana’ program from December 28 to January 6. The party has submitted the names of all the candidates to the Collectors under 15 Assembly constituencies.
