Police in Hyderabad, India have arrested 10 people for storing and selling fake cotton seeds to unsuspecting farmers. The authorities seized 3.35 tons of spurious cotton seeds and 14,850 empty pouches, worth around Rs 95 lakh. In a separate operation, police in Shadnagar seized 1.5 tonnes of counterfeit cotton seeds and arrested Thotakura Ranga Rao, who was attempting to sell them. Rao had previously served jail time for selling fraudulent seeds. The authorities have urged farmers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to the sale and distribution of agricultural inputs.
