Volleyball Tournament Begins for Youth in Maoist-Affected Areas

A three-day mandal-level volleyball competition began on Wednesday, organized by the Charla Police. The event aims to showcase the talent of young people living in Maoist-affected areas.

The tournament was inaugurated at Cherla police station, with Additional SP Operations Pankaj Paritosh attending as the chief guest. Bhadrachalam ASP Vikrant Kumar Singh was also present at the event.

So far, 49 village teams have registered for the competition. Players from villages in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh have also been invited to participate.

Speaking at the event, Pankaj Paritosh encouraged young people in agency areas to excel in both sports and studies. He noted that many youths leave their education due to various reasons and take up jobs. He urged them to focus on both academics and sports to bring pride to their region and gain recognition.

He also highlighted the achievements of Gongidi Trisha, a cricketer from an agency area who recently played a key role in helping Team India win the Women’s Cricket World Cup. He advised the participants to take inspiration from her success.

The district SP has planned similar programs to identify and promote the talent of youth in the region. Additionally, efforts are being made to improve access to education, healthcare, and transportation for the people in these areas.

Bhadrachalam ASP Vikrant Kumar Singh also addressed the gathering. He advised young people to avoid bad habits and support the development and welfare initiatives undertaken by the police to secure a better future for themselves.
