Special public dialogue to be organized by Youngistaan Foundation tomorrow

The World Day against Trafficking in Persons is observed on July 30th every year to raise awareness about human trafficking and protect its victims. In 2021, there were 2189 reported cases of human trafficking in India, with 6213 individuals rescued. To address this issue, the Youngistaan Foundation, a Hyderabad-based NGO, is organizing a public dialogue event on July 29th, 2023. The event is supported by the Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TSCPCR) and T-HUB, among others.

The theme of this year’s event is “Reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind”. It aims to raise awareness, promote understanding, and encourage collaborative efforts to combat human trafficking. The event will bring together government officials, civil society organizations, academicians, survivors, and concerned citizens.

During the event, participants will learn about the devastating impact of human trafficking and the government’s efforts to combat it. Survivors will share their stories of violence and their experiences of rescue and rehabilitation with the government’s assistance. Representatives from government departments and quasi-judicial bodies will discuss their roles and the government’s commitments to protect victims and address the issue in Telangana. Through thought-provoking activities, the goal is to inspire collective action and contribute to the eradication of human trafficking in the region.

There will also be a special live performance by Hyderabad’s No.1 Live Music Band, Capricio. Music and arts have the power to connect with people, inspire change, and heal wounds. Through their performance, the band aims to raise awareness about human trafficking, its victims, and the need for collective action.

Arun Daniel Yellamaty, the Founder of Youngistaan Foundation, highlighted the importance of raising awareness about human trafficking and taking measures to prevent it. He emphasized the need for governments, law enforcement, public services, and civil society to work together to combat this social evil. The aim of the event is to provide participants with insights and data about human trafficking and raise awareness of its impact on people and society. The foundation hopes that everyone will join the event and contribute to creating a safe future.
