Speakers at Roundtable Express Concern over Rampant Unemployment in TS, Specifically in Warangal

During a round table conference in Hanumakonda on Monday, Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) chief Prof. Kodandaram spoke about the high rates of underemployment in Telangana. He criticized the TSPSC, the State recruitment board, for failing to provide adequate job opportunities to the people. Kodandaram stated that the number of unemployed individuals in Telangana increased three times during 2018-19 compared to the 2013-14 period. He also highlighted that the percentage of jobless individuals who have completed post graduation rose from 10% in 2013-14 to 34% in 2018-19, indicating the severity of unemployment in the State. Kodandaram emphasized that employment should be viewed as a growth engine for the nation and not just as a means of earning for individuals. He criticized the government for failing to fill 1.07 lakh vacancies in the State services and demanded an inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into the TSPSC examination question paper leaks. Hanumakonda DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy accused the government of silencing the Opposition and covering up its failures. Other leaders present at the conference included Govardhan, Sircilla Rajaiah, Appa Rao, Manda Shankaaia, Narasimha Rao, and Kannam Sunil.
